PayPal Question
Question for you PayPal people....
I've been making purchases for our department and was notified that I am about $190 away from my spending limit with PayPal. They said I have to become "Verified" if I want to spend more than that in the future. They are asking for a bank account etc. be entered into my PayPal account. All this looks legit as it is within my PayPal account.
My question is this....is this safe? Has anyone done this and do you feel untreatened that someone might take your info? (sorry...actually 2 questions!)
Thanks for the help!

I'd email Paypal direct and ask them to be sure.

I went through the verification process with paypal. Its not a big deal, but, as the others have said, make surre that you are really dealing with paypal before you send them your bank info. The process is pretty simple, you send them you bank info and they deposit some small amount like 22 cents into your checking account, then you tell them how much they deposited and PRESTO! you are verified.

Just like makomike said. Don't go through a link though. Type in paypal.com on your address bar. This way you know you are hooked up to them directly.

YES - ABSOLUTE. YOU need to initiate any computer communications with PayPal - NEVER put account info in an e-mail. Always enter the account information into the screen and only when the the address starts witrh http s:// and with PayPal....l

Yup it's normal. I went through it a year or two ago.
As suggested, be wary of unsolicited links that get emailed to you that mention paypal though. I just deleted another one telling me paypal is verifying accounts and asked me to sign in to verify my info. They are getting clever.
F'um. They all su<k!

Now you got me a little nervous with that PayPal lock-out stuff! I might have to create another bank account strictly for PayPal! Thanks for the heads up!

i've got a payapl debit card and can withdraw $400 a day from my account. if you use it in an atm you pay double fees( bank & pp ) if you go to a teller for an advance( it's really not, it's your $$) no fees.
