If you're flat footed make sure you find a shoe with plenty of arch support. And replace shoes often. I forget how often is recommended, but if the bottom of the show is really worn, it's long past dead.

I guess that's it for my running shoe knowledge and experience....

Your knees are to tweaked for running. Try hiking, or pick up mtn biking again.

Running shoes

How about going to see doctor first and get a minor checkup to make sure everything is a o.k........Sounds like your going to hit it hard. Maybe you allready have seen the doc. Either way after 15 years I thought it might be appropriate.

Yup,
Had the full workup last Friday!!! Running is what she recommemded (I'm pretty solid up top, could just stand to lose some weight through good aerobic excercise.
Got the Air Max 360's, omigawd are they comfortable!!!
Gonna go out on the first mission in ten minutes.
Wish me luck.
Later,
Rick

Rick, Just saw that you got a new pair of running shoes.

In the future you may want to cheak out Marathon Sports, there are several locations around.... they are a running specialty store, they will watch you walk, tell you what type of shoe you need , make some recomendations, and give you a few pairs to try on , and have you run with them outside on the side walk . A good idea to pay top $ for a quality pair.

You may also want to run on TRAILS to avoid injury.

Good Luck in your training

Talked to him the other day. He told me lost ten pounds in the last week. I don't know how healthy that is, but he said he felt a lot better.
