between the legs, under the arm or in the gut

in my 21 years in the surf with my uncle, I have noticed many different ways to set back on a fish. Wondering what ways you guys like. I have always been a guy that likes the butt of my rod in my gut (shorter from the handle to the butt) Just curious?

I use 10' rods most of the time, with the reel anywhere from 21" to 25" up the butt.

Between the legs is the only way it works for me

I like a short butt section and the butt in the gut. I started building my own rods just to get the right fit for a given blank.
