Rubber grudge......

Not that epoxy is any better, but those damn worms melted so many of my lures as a kid I can't bring myself to fish a sluggo (probably couldn't cast it with the stuff I fish anyways). So I'm going to try this instead (sticky mess and bad wire wrap not withstanding). It goes swimming tomorrow.........we'll see.

Top 9" sluggo
Mid Heddon Zaragossa
Bottom uncured maple turd

2 oz. There's some lead in it. Pretty easy shape to make. How it acts in the water remains to be seen.

Cool.

I have to admit though, at first I looked them and was wondering how you wired a rubber bodyoke: I think I need to stop with the paint fumes.

idea. Hope it works out for you. I'm digging your threads. Always some interesting plugs that you are doing. Thanks!

Hmmmmmm........back to the drawing board. Swam the thing, acts like a jointed needle fish with a little more veer when jerked. I wanted something more vigorous, but the shape of the nose causes the plug to porpise when worked on top. Once in a while I can get a sinuous walk the dog action that looks deadly, but not easily or consistently enough to be practical. I'm thinking a little slope to the forehead and some chin weight might be better. We'll see.

i don`t make plugs

George

would a front end low keel weight work with another weight low just at the beginning of the second half? this is a guess at best.

Love that plug!...yours......... Do they still make the Zara Gossa?

Good health and family

Thanks, but there is a big difference between a good looking plug and one that works...............and an even bigger gap, of course, between one that works and one that works better than what is already available. But it's fun trying. Also, I agree with your weighting ideas. I don't know about the availability of the zaragossa, I don't think they ever caught on. Thanks again for your interest.

Do it in AYC and loose most of the lead.

since your not happy with it, why not hack a plastic or small metal lip in it and take it back for test.. looks somewhat mr. wiggely like..
