No what I read

Straight from Outdoor life Apirls edition ----

In 1889 a 112 lb striped bass was caught in
a seine net off of Cape Cod at Orleans Mass.

Is this the truth?

Outdoor Life better do so more research. 125 is the what they ( there were two in the same seine) estimated to have weighed before they were gutted. The 112 is the gutted weight. Also, a Francis Miner caught and weighed an 89 pounder on Block Island in the 1800's but the documentation was lost. He caught it on a rod and reel.

Why even try.........

The block island bass is the one that is the print of the man and the striper but the striper has no stripes, right?
