Striper Fishing

Are there any good Striper spots around Greenwich Bay that I can take a couple of grandkids fishing? They are afraid of the boat, so I would like to take them someplace close to there home. How is that area around Goddard Park?
Thanks

I'm having the same problem taking my grandkid fishing. GP is good if you don't mind walking to Sally Rock. A little mucky for kids by the boat ramp. Facing the beach walk left through the woods to the point that is probably the easiest fishing for kids there. Drive past GP entrance and try Sandy Point at the roads end. Good luck.

Green river (the south side of the peninsula Goddard park is on) is nice and calm. I was there yesterday - schoolies are there.

b-assman,
Thanks. How do you get there from forge rd or do you take Ives to the end. I have a bum right foot and need close access. Is there any parking available. Access points? May have to look for my worn out DEM access book if hasn't fallen apart.

Sandy Point at the end of Ives Road....High Tide-Mid Tide (on the drop) Try both sides of the jetty, about 30-50 yards down, from the beach.
There are fish there now - but it gets better through May.

Sorry Bluzjamer - I don't know of any shore access. I was fishing from the boat. There may be some access by Rocky Hill school. I did notice some paths leading from the water. I suppose you could follow the shoreline from sandy point (see joes post). There may be access on the south side - but I kind of doubt it - it's a pretty exclusive neighborhood (Pojac Point).

uffah, where in Cranston? Some good spots along cranston shore.
B-assman,
I went down the chippy and the tide was low..hard to fish with the G-kid. Went down Forbes looking for access to Greene river...could not find any. Only way is end of Ives and take canoe over. It is too far for me to walk. Need calm water for canoe. I took the shore rd. back toward G-park. Seems all the acces points have no parking signs up (thanks to the local residents), they don't look like city signs. I tried allens harbor entrance and then the Narrow where I did see 2 small fish caught on flies. I checked out some spots in Warwick this morning tide is high but wind is kicking. No fish, tried Mill cove.
