I was there for a few hours this morning.
That place was LOADED..... with people that is..
I didnt care, wanted to get my pregnant wife out of the house...
2 hours, no fish, only 1 schoolie seen caught, but it was so nice out and so worth it.

It was a 0-0 tie between me and the Canal this AM. No fish, but no lost jigs
Last time out I got blown out 7-0 and had to invoke the mercy rule.

Canal rat, you gotta get deep and out into the middle. 3,4, 5 oz jigs..
The past 10 days have been slow, but if you find a rip, cast upcurrent from it and jig thru it, you will find some better fish.

uffah......There upon resides a special god that traverses the bottom of the "ditch" from end to end. His specific job is to effectivly grasp each and every piece of lead, coated or uncoated, dressed with animal or synthetic attire and hold on until the fisherman on the other end of the line has completed his or her expletives and strenght trying to salvage a lure or a few bucks and breaks off leaving another chunk of lead. Lining the otherwise rocky bottom with lead, plastic, wood and all sorts of materia used in luring the mighty striped bass
.
The god also has a few gremlin friends that help, such as Lobsta traps, huge weeds, mussel beds, discarded rope, humongus starfish and other heavy objects.
Added to all that the current runs so fast one cannot salvage a lure due to errant casting or if the almighty srtiped bass decides to wrap you around his favoritwe boulder!
