I'm showing 87 in my home office and nearly 100 under the deck...which is granted in the sun.

Not that it's low, but luckly the dewpoint is as low as it is.

88 degrees in Buzzards Bay. It's hardly ever unbearable there, unless, as is the case today, we have a west wind blowing straight overland rather than a SW sea breeze.

Tomorrow I'll be standing shoulder deep raking quahogs, at least.

95 here
even with a small a/c in my shop window, I can't take it out there for much more than an hour. I'm spoiled
it is friggen hot! drink lots of water
I wish I had a pool but even that would be like bath water.
I hope this hot weather doesn't chase any bass away that may still be around

Arrow just turning on bedroom AC

5 hours before bedtime....just to have comfortable air...
usually we can shut it off later....
but, not likely...
------------------------------------------------------------
did ya see on the news...it was like advertising
a kid takes a car tire, throws it around a fire hydrant
then wedges a 6 foot 2x4 into the tire to back leverage
the 2x4 into the side valve to release water...

i'd thought that was quite ingenious......

My kids football coach had them doing a full 2 hour practice today in 96* temps. Every half hour, a three minute break for water and to catch their breath. No mercy from this guy.

A few kids were on the sidelines. I thought I was gonna die just from watching them.

And they gotta do it again tommorow with it breaking 100.

I would not let my kids participate in this heat CAL....shiite happens and we read about young folks dying from heat stroke every year...your kids are too young for practicing in this heat! The coach should have his head examined for not cancelling practice for a few days....its not the friggin NFL for chrissakes!

My prediction is we will get our share of tragic stories tomorrow from the oppressive heat!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

Larry, wasn't just one coach.......there were at least eight different teams on two practice fields doing this.

I didn't want to seem like a wuss when none of the other parents were saying anything. I honestly thought they'd have light drills for an hour tops.

If the other parents were letting their kids jump off a bridge...would you let yours because you did not want to be a "wuss"? Hate to see folks wind up on the news like some will tomorrow because people choose to ignore the warnings.

At 10 AM the thermostat in my bedroom read 88 degrees.

According to my car thermometer, which is usually accurate within one degree, it's 97 in Sagamore, 98 in Bourne Scenic Park, and 97 in downtown Buzzards Bay.

Let me tell you---I really have to rack my brain to come up with the last time it bordered on 100 along the Canal. Normally, mid-80s with a nice SW sea breeze on these high humidity days is as bad as it gets.

This was not a day to pull a clam rake, and I didn't even try. Even standing waist deep in 76 degree water, it would have been miserable. Plus the last time I quahogged, the water was full of big reddish jellyfish with tentacles over a foot long, and a couple of people digging in bathing suits got stung. Nope, not a day for waders, even breatheables

Had a softball game last night at 6:00 and another today at 6:00. We are playing the same team twice. Last night before the start of the game they came over to us and asked if we wanted to do a double header instead of coming back to play today. We all agreed to do it and then they decided not to after the first game. Morons would rather play in 110 degree heat today. Not looking forward to it. At least tomorrow I have an Ice hockey game.

My kids had a Summer League baseball last night and have another tonight . . . bet the left fielder does not show up tonight . . . left last night after he "hurled" (team's word - not mine) all over the front of his uniform . . . ended up playing 8 on 8

Cal,
Saw a report of a 15 yr old football player in Georgia died of heat stroke yesterday..... Tell those coaches to pound sand and call the health officials in the town, They'll shut them down with mucho bad publicity. Just keep the kids' interests first!!!! These types of @#$%^& coaches are @#$%^& braindead!
Hell, my crew was done at 11AM today. just not worth it......

With the liability I'm really suprised that they allow the coaches to practice in the heat...

Tonight, I couldn't believe how long it took the ump to call a Babe Ruth game...with lightening bearing down on us.

Never really had a problem with ice in the summer. Obviously the surface is not as hard as in Winter but it is still pretty good. Wouldn't want to see the electricity bill but I quess we pay for it. This weather will just make the beers taste better after.
