Talkin' about TUNA!!!
I saw this on another board. not me, not mine, but a great local catch. Details
"Bluefin was caught last Saturday about 20 miles off Pt. Judith
It was on an 80# class rod reel. It weighed just shy of 780# without
its guts and gills.
Bye the way, it took about 6 1/4 hours to land."

That picture taken from the tower is awesome. Job well done by the crew.

That is a big fish, you know when the reel went off a few jaws dropped and then when that big chrome bullet approache the boat they dropped again.
What other board? I have been looking for a board with more offshore reports. (PM me if you think it is in bad taste)

Fish have been coming out of the mud hole for almost a week now. I posted about it earlier. Yesterday (Saturday) Duck Soup landed a 916 pound fish. The fish are there if anyone wants to fish for them!

Hey MakoMike, When the trawlers circle th mudhole area and a few boats follow, what bait are they getting from them and what do you do with it? Everyone seems to be chunkin, is that how people are getting the giants?

Its their bycatch, mostly juvenial whiting and ling. They use it to chunk and also as hook baits. The fish get used to coming up behind the draggers while they are culling their catch and scooping up a free meal.
