Fishing Jetties in Plymouth
Anyone ever fish off the jetties in Plymouth Harbor or Scussett Beach with any luck?

I used to fish off the one in the harbor. Had some luck out there, but it's a hell of a long walk.

ive fished the jettys of scusset/sagamore beach, mainly in the fall. once all the sunbathers deem it too cold to hit the sand the beach is all but deserted. come late september/early october the schools of migrating fish will come right by there. last year we had a few good days, but the big schools of fish stayed well offshore and all we could do was watch as the boats slayed them.
good luck.

That beach has given up more than a few 50's over the years in the fall.

Could be. I was out there once in awhile back in the early-mid 90's too.

i was a barnicle on the plymouth harbor jetty back in the 90's...my best fish were a 28lb bass and 15lb bluefish, and i probably lost a few better fish...walked off a respectable number of "keepers" (over 36") throughout that decade...that being said, that place today is a mere shell of its former self, and the fish that are still there are not worth the hike to the end...
i've also taken a few fish off the scusset/sandwich jetties as well, although ive fished those places far less...

We used to fish the Jettie on Plymouth Harbour. Had great days there back in the early 90's. Lost my favorite fishing rod there too.
Got plenty of schoolies on the boat side of the jettie, it was a long hike. Recently fished at Scussett beach and caught striper, sand skark, skates and perch. Will be there again this Friday and Saturday. Taking the nephews fishing, trying to get them hook on fishing rather than other stuffs. My bro and co-worker will join me on Saturday.. Saw someone pull out three huge stripers off of that canal at the point. Hope we get the same luck. good luck, maybe we see you there. Good fishing to ya!
