Back from my vacation

Well my wife and I had a great time on the cape this week. We hooked up with Jeffsod, and Rick Bomba on sunday evening. I got a nice blue and on e smaller one, Rick got a striper, and Jeff got a blue. On monday evening my wife and I fished the same place, 1 more striper and a couple of blues. No fishing on Tuesday, but Wed nesday, and Thursday found us in P-Town. We fished Herring Cove beach, and caught many schoolies, and a few fluke on 7" Yozuris. All in all it was a fun time.

Jeff thanks for the fishing on Sunday, and all the info. We had a blast, and will be back down in a few weeks.

Welcome back and glad you had a great time. Its good to get away... not so good to come back to reality

Pretty cool your wife likes to fish... it goes along way to help them understand why we are psychos and gives you one more thing to do together.

Bill, "are you going to throw that in the canal?" Yep I already did on Wednesday morning. No hits on it though. Get your rod problems straightened out?

Slip thats kool. I also heard you got a monster. I may head down sunday am or sat pm to use the jigging rod. No more herring too much work.

BM I was gonna look you up, but the wife said no bluefish. Seriously though I did'nt expect to fish more than one night, the wife went one night and ran with it. Go figure, she had a blast though.

Specialist, just got back from da cape again. Fished Sat night same spot as we did last weekend. Got bass 26 inches and steady bluefish from 9-11 in the 4-8lb range. Went back tonight, good tide, fished 5:45-7:15pm nice evening a little windy out of the northwest but Holy Cow was there a TON OF BLUEFISH!!!!!!! I was getting them on every other cast the whole time I was there. Me and a friend who I don't think ever caught so many blues in his life. After the first several fish I said heck with trebles and fished a nice single hook hopkins out of the bag and crunched the barb down. Much better! Spent more time catching less time unhooking. It was almost tooo easy. I wished you had been there with your better half she would have got her bluefish fix for sure. We just reeled the 'ol hopkins fast enough to keep it on top and it was just like having a topwater plug on. They would nail it good and if they missed they just kept charging right up to the rod tip. Lots of fun.

I wish we were ther too. Sounds like you guys stomped them. I tried the swimming plug, that I lost on the jetty and recovered, at the canal last night. I got one hit and a long quick run on it. I never seemed to set the hook in her. Nothing else after that. It is so rewarding to have something hit a plug that you made yourself.
