wood, come by my shop with your gear and i will show you a great leader to main line knot. you cna tie it with your eyes closed.

The key to avoiding wind knots is to make sure you take up all the slack in your line as soon as you put the line on the roller. I do that by lifting up the tip of my pole and reeling in a few cranks. Then i look down and look for the dreaded loop hanging out off the spool. If you do that on every cast, you should be able to avoid wind knots all together.

Alberto knot works great. No tag end to cut your finger and I have never had that knot fail.

There are so many braids on the market now that are better than Power Blows, that it makes no sense to use it if it's giving you problems.

Try Sufix, Big Game braid or Stren Superbraid. Or even better for a VS, Fireline. Fireline works without headaches on almost any spinning reel, and it's mucho more abrasion resistant than Power Pro.

Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools, because they have to say something.

This is a pic from this weekend of sufix 65# that had a pretty bad cut in it. I used my scale to see what was left, and was pleasantly surprised that it broke at 31#. Considering the damage, I was impressed.

So far Sufix is working well for me on my 7000s. I just kicked a big spool of PP 50#, and may switch to Sufix for that as well.

The line actually looked worse that it does in the picture.
