Rut activities
Through my experiences the 12th & 13th are safest dates to go by when timeing the rut. It can happen 5 days either way of those dates but if I gota pick days for time off them are the dates. I was hopeing we could use this thread to post reports buck activity of tending, chaseing and mateing does. Buck activity should be increasing day by day, a good indication is vechical colisions. Get ready to shoot the slammer of your dreams.

On my way to work yesterday morning at 0700 I saw a massive buck in a neighbors yard, he had his chest pushed out, neck all swollen and his nose in the air and he was curling. His spread was massive, I did a double take, it looked like he was thinking of crossing rt 139. He had to have at leat 2' between his racks. I know where he came from, but the way in is chained up un fortunately, I think I know where he was going, but that area maybe posted.

Saturday afternoon had a masive 8-10 point 50 yards from the stand.
He would not come in wind was right and he had no idea I was there.
Monday morning 6:30 he came right in down wind caught me at 40 yards locked up and turned tail and ran.
I'll give that stand a rest for a few days & try end of the week

Should I call in sick Thursday Or Friday? I could hear one last night, making a ton of noise, just out of site. Pacing up and down in an area of dense brush. Wind should be right for tonight, maybe I'll get lucky.
