Limiting Rust Buildup on Korker Stud Threads
Any suggestions on what to use on the threads of the studs to retard them from rusting up, making them easier to replace? Perhaps a silicone grease?

My Korkers are in really tough shape. I have to do something with them this year for sure. I thing I'm going to try the stainless steel nut and screw method with Never-Seize.

Take the nuts off at the end of the season, pressure wash the studless sandals at the car wash and lube up the thread holes - store the studs in a bag with WD-40 over the winter.....Takes about 1/2 hour total...
The DZ method is very good too....takes about an hour two times a year....

I think mine are still in the bed of my pickup buried under a foot of snow and ice. I'm on six years now with my 5000's, they are rusted to all hell and they still work fine, including the buckles.

serioulsy though, thanks for the info guys, I didn't even think of using a never-sieze on the korkers. I've got one korker done with the SS screws via the DZ method and now I'm going to have to get some never-sieze and finish the other.
