Falmouth fishing

I will in Falmouth for the road race this weekend. Not running obliviously if you know me. I am thinking about taking my surf rod. I will be staying right at the finish line by the beach. Is it worth it to fish along that stretch of beach?

Thanks

There will be small bass (20-30") available along the beach and inside the nearby pond openings after dark. It is also a new moon and some of the ponds may have worm hatches. Your chances of a large bass are small so gear your tackle down accordingly. The bait is spearing and tiny bunker, so gear down your offerings as well. You can also bottom fish for sharks at night along there (and at nearby Surf Drive). 2-3 hours after high water can be a good time to make some casts at the front of the pond openings, though at this time of year a decent bluefish is more likely than a big bass.

ahhh, not really, but if you get lucky you can get into some nice schoolie action at night, would suggest fly fishing though, because these fish are very finicky sometimes. but if you can find a nice school of bunker exiting a pond, then youve got bass at night.
