Octoberfish!!! aka ..."Friday the 13th, Scary Movie,Fall Fishing, Ell Slimed, Cess Pool Condo, Bass and Blue Blitz Extravaganza STRIPERFEST"

OctoberFish will be on Saturday, Oct 14. Some scouting on Friday night will help to find the fish and on Saturday night, we fix 'em... I am unable to do the following weekend of the 21st as there is a previous commitment...

Items to bring;

Waders
Lures/Plugs/Eels (cut bait fishing is OK but depending where we are will determine how accessible to chunk)
Korkers for the adventurous types (we may or may not be around Korkerable territory )
Pack light as there may be some walking involved depending on locations/buggy passes
Surf rods, minimum of 8' and I would recommend a minumum of 20# test line as there can be some big fish around then...
Area to be fished, 90% certain between Charlestown Beach and Watch Hill...

I'd like to get a running headcount on the board or via e-mail....And may the games begin

As much as I want to be there to meet and fish with all of you guys, I can't make it because I have a trip to Block Island booked for that weekend, that's why I was pushing for the following weekend. Good luck all, go get em!

Mark, as we will just be a few miles away from you, keep looking at the Rhody Shoreline for our neck-lites flashing. That way you'll know we are into fish ... Actually, great time to be at Block (sometimes)...

#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&,
I think John may get mad at you if you skip the Extravaganza, but (and this is no joke) I will have my vehicle there and you are more than welcome to get a lift around the island with me. I'm heading over on Friday morning with 1 other guy so far, and returning Sunday afternoon. I could pick you up at the ferry either Friday or Saturday night, fish, then drop you back off in the morning, unless you have a place to stay out there.

John,
Won't be able to see your lights, will be on the south side of the island where the big girls are.

I'll be there for some or all of the weekend. Watch Hill looks good with high tide around 10 that Sat night. Best bet is to see what's happening the week before but if nowhere is especially hot , Watch Hill will be easy to fish for several hours that night. By Midnight , all the breachways will be ineteresting. One suggestion would be Charletown Breachway. People willing to do the walk can get up on the wall while others who don't like to walk in line (like me) can fish the beach next to it. Anyway , the tides appear pretty good for fishing from sunset to about 3 AM. Then regardless of tide , the souther beaches should see some blitzes that morning. If my tired , fat body will take it , I may fish for real at night and try some flyfishying in the AM.

I'm in dude!

I don't know, all that talent assembled in one night... could be the end of Rhode Island fishing as we know it! We may multi-handedly put a premature end to the fall run. Pity all those tourney anglers coming down for tri-state the following weekend, won't be no fish left.

Don't worry about #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&, he's just worried that all the people that he's tweaked (which is pretty much everyone) are going to line up and start tossing 3 oz. hopkins at him while he's perched 50 feet further out than us on some suicide rock

Looking forward to meeting everyone and puttin' some hooks to a few large strip-ed bass and maybe some toothy blue critters as well.

Later.
