Vacation Pics
Had a mixed bag of fishing for 10 days. My X-brother-in-law came down from Ellsworth ME to fish 3 days on my pond and then we travelled north to fish on his pond.
Saturday 9-9: Chasing blues outside Boston harbor, caught a boatload, spaced on the camera but just ask Clammer he knows what they look like .
Sunday 9-10: Westport, to Cutty, to the Vineyard and Devils Bridge, mixed bag of Bass, huge blues to 17lbs, big black bass and unfortunately some nice fluke out of season. Finished up by chasing some Albies, 2 hook ups but none to the boat.
Monday 9-11: Back to a sweat hole we found west of the Vineyard we drifted with Ledgerunners on Owner 1-1/8 oz and some 2-1/2 oz canal jigs in 65-80 foot water. This was fun fishing, John was after the meat and was fishing the 2-1/2 oz jigs and getting the black bass and fluke, with the occassional large striper or blue. I was fishing lighter and was catching the bass and some monster blues.
Tuesday 9-12: Packed up all the bait supplies (John is pouring for me this winter) and moved north.
Wednesday 9-13 thru 9-15: Camped at one of my favorite smallie lakes 1-1/2 hours north of Bangor, but unfortunately the weather didn't make for good fishing. We had a bait corral and were able to stock up every morning with 4-5 dozen chubs and soft fined bait fish, but the typical deep hole bite was slow. We did manage several dozen smallies over 3 lbs with maybe a 4.5 the largest. Good camping weather, good camping stories and we added a new one when a flying squirrel decided to join us for diner one night, finding a special liking to my Cape Cod potatoe chips (pics follow). We had a couple star filed nights with loon songs that bring you back to northern Maine.
I'm looking forward to the fall run, but getting back to some basics is fun and relaxing.

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.
1984 was a warning, not a guidebook!
It's time more people spoke up with the truth. Every time we let a leftist lie go uncorrected, the commies get stronger.
