Been A Weird Week >. Blame [HABS}
The sudden passing of john this week shocked many in the fishing community . but also as friends everywhere as well '
Reading the posts & stories makes you think >> but going to the services & seeing {[JOHN}} his friends & family / the photos / the pain /tears / the turning and walking away from John,s final physical resting place ; takes you to another level of thought & reflection Yes the pain is truly there for those that were [REALLY} close to John & his family ;
I have noticed that a couple of posts referred to my {ENJOY WHAT YOU HAVE} ... For the people on the site that know me personally & not the CLAMMER on S-B>COM .>>> I didn,t [CUM up with that saying . because it sounded good ;;
all the phases that are said by people ;;
Stop & smell the roses:;
let bygones be bygones ::
Sraighten it out later;
Another time;
F $%^&* Um :
Next Year :
There,s always tomorrow :;
Can,t take it with ya ::
AND many more phrases that I can,t remember or don,t know ::
throw them out the window & think deep & hard .. Enjoy what you have .. no matter matter how much you wanna or feel >.POOR ME > There are many people worse off & would gladly change places with you if they could ;;
one of the best ones is don,t save for tomorrow what you can do today >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO true //
if something tragic happens .. this could eat at you the rest of your life;
if you were gonna fix the screen today & you have time ..do it ;;
same with the oil change ;;
ya son wants to play catch right now /but ya getting you gear ready for the tide > at least throw a few with him ;;
take a few minutes to really listen to your daughter when she tries to explain why this is the dress that Bobbie is wearing today ;;
give your loved one a hug .for REALLY no reason ;
bring home a single rose & have it in a vase on the table for ..no reason ..not after ya in the s ^&*
Just tell people you love .you {LOVE] them /don,t wait til a special day or time ;;
take your special person to a place they like /Not were you like ;;
watch the cooking show instead of that movie you have been waiting too see ;;
Please people / ya don,t wanna say or feel you have the SHUDDA,s &&&&&& they are in part . I sudda played catch ; I shudda taken her to the flower show ;; I SHUDDA stayed home friday nite ;;
I SHUDDa said [[I<M SORRY}
I Shudda let it slide ;;
I Shudda buried the hatchet :
I shudda hug you & told ya how much ya meant to me ;;
>>>>>>>>>> Ya don,t wanna say its TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO late >>>> they passed last nite ;;
I just had to say this from a guy who has had [is[ on both sides ;;;
One side makes the loss easier /cuz I have no SHUDDA.S & the other side struggl
es at times because its too late ;;
I guess this also a good as time as any to apologize to anyone on this site that I have [Hurt] by my words or actions /
not pissed off .. that will always happen .. but I never intentionally try & hurt someone personally ; I know at times I push past the G/P button & if i,ve offended anyone >.I,m truly sorry >> But also that may happen again .because that,s me >> and if your gonna take people for who they are > ya get the good with the bad . oooooooooooooooor you have the option on changing the channel ;;
IT Closing >>>>> take it in deep >>> don,t let it go to I SHUDDA::
Thanks for the call last nite Bill , it was REALLY great to see you :::
Thanks for listening MIKE

That made my day, thanks Mike.
I try to live by that message and focus on whas truly important (family, friends, living life) and not let the noise like work cloud my mind. I reflect every day on how lucky I am and how important the people in my life are to me.

Very,VERY well said.
Family and Friends always come 1st. I try and spend as much time as possible with my kids as I know that those days are dwindling. Now that they are older I try and go out with my wife for dinner once a week....just the 2 of us. Those are the 3 things that are the most important in my life.....everything else can wait.
A couple of years ago I got my last kiss goodnight from my son....He informed he is too old for that now, and he is right (tried to pull that on my wife....Didn't fly). My daughter is now starting to change from little girl to young lady.....Happens fast. Enjoy it for all its worth while you can.

Mike,
Clammer and "enjoy what you have" are synonomous in my mind. Those are words to live by and every post you put up reminds us to learn that lesson the easy way instead of the hard way. Thanks for that.

Great thoughts, as fast as things move now a days I think we all tend to loose sight of what is truly important and unfortunatly many times it takes a tragic event to bring things back into perspective.
Enjoy what you have while you have it, I never thought much about that until I lost a younger brother at age 30, but now raising 3 kids it's a phrase to live by.

Wow Mike!
Very eloquent....This has been quite a whirlwind week of emotions. Billy has taken John's untimely death very hard and I think all of us are feeling our mortality at the moment. There have been a lot of extra hugs and extra "I love you's" in the Nolan house as one never knows when your time is up. He drives me nuts sometimes, , but I couldn't live a day without him. We're going to try very hard here to live for the moment! No more 'could of ' or 'should of ' around here.
Can't wait to see you Clammer! The doors always open and you know where we live

Not taken Critical.....I am trying to let him figure things out himself....part of him growing up is helping him make his own choices....you never know what happens in the future.
Like I said....my wife wouldn't have any part of that

I learned a long time ago that you should always try to leave things with loved ones on a positive note. I'm all "grown up" now, but I still end every phone call with my mom and dad with "I love you". I tell my wife and son I love them every night before going to bed. I could never live with myself if something happened to either me or a family member and they didn't know how I felt about them. Life is crappy sometimes and people are taken from us too early.

Life has a way of making you forget -
Time doesn't only heal, but it also makes you forget. Or is forgetting a different kind of healing? emotionally that is -
Forget the pain you suffered
Forget the love you had
Forget the times you shared
Sure, when you think about it or talk about it with friends.....it comes back to ya, but unless you make it your life-style.... with time, you'll forget again, and get back to the grind of trying to make money to support the family, go fishing, run out the door as soon as the wife gets home to go do "your" thing, etc/etc/etc...and all those little <nice> things get lost until the next hard ship rolls along.
I think Mikul has made it his life-style. I too, live by that standard. I tell my wife almost weekly, , LIFE IS TOO SHORT, don't worry so much. Sure, we all worry...but you have to know when to say....F#$@# it, it ain't worth it. Enjoy what you have -
Clam, I think one of the reasons I like you so much is because I see myself in you about 50 years from now when I'm your age.
TDF - Demand at least a hug from him - don't let it go.
When you start tight, you end tight,,, unless you let it go.
God Bless You Mikul -
(ok, I'm going back into the closet now)

I could be mistaken but I'm pretty sure Mike's taken chapters out of the Bible. I don't care what anybody says, there are some A1 people on this site...and fishermen too.
