hook changing

new to using plugs and have to change hooks how do i do it

If the lures in question have split rings then get yourself some split ring pliers (you can do it without these but its harder) use them to pry open the two halves of the split ring and work the hook off, this is just like taking a key off of a key ring. If the lure has cut hooks (hooks that have a break in the eye) then you have to cut them off and replace them with either open eye hooks or split rings and closed eye hooks. Do yourself a favor and use VMC 4x permasteel hooks as replacements. Hope this was helpful.

I usually buy a pair of split ring pliers
and match the hook size with VMC's
then just change them, if they are cut treble hooks
then you will also need a good pair of wire cutters
