When will it end?

Hey there. G;lad to see the site up and running again. I was just wondering if anybody could give me a good estimate on how much longer will the fish be around, in good numbers, particluary in the Cape Cod area. I want to make one more trip down to Eastham and fish Coast Guard beach, Nauset Inlet, as well as fish up towards Race Point. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Derek

Derek, there are decent fish still in Bastin Haba and the Outer beaches and Canal should be really heating up about now. MV hadn't even experienced good striper blitzes yet... I was talking to Russ Hooper from Maine last week and he said the fish had left there about 2 weeks ago. You could have some decent fishing up on the Merri about now (or it just cooled down)....

It is entierly possible that the Vineyard may not get a "blitz" of bass this year,It does happen. It is already the middle of october and the cape people certainly are on borrowd time! The nantucket rips sometimes hold fish that migrate right on past the islands and end up either at block island or montauk,If you dont see significant changes by the end of next week call the cape quits!

While they are still getting loads of fish at the cannal, those fish are small schoolies , a sure sign that the fish are moving out, they are the last to leave.Your best shot at a cow now is rhode islands south shore or points south...

Striperman, There is a report of a shore caught 32 lb from Truro this past weekend. So I'd say a little while anyway.

The real question is when will the board stop acting freaky. ;-)

Hey, does that mean we should move the Octoberfish-Striperfest to Newport?

I think those fish will be around Charlestown tonight though. ;p
