Eel Fly

Hey Guys, I'm looking for a fly that imitates the American Eel, preferably something big, 8-12". I don't tie myself so if someone could reference me to a similar pattern it would be very helpful. Thanks.

Post Eel Punt

Try an Eels punt fly. It is a traditional N.E. flatwing fly, plus it catches fish....sometimes BIG fish.

Long black saddle hackles

The first saddle you tye in should be short and stubby, to support the rest of the fly. After that you can keep tying saddles in making the fly as big or as small as you want (I've seen some of these flys as long as 18") The last feather is palmered up the shank of the fly and that's all there is to it.
