Backing for spiderwire

Is there a preferred backing to use with spiderwire?

I used it for cod fishing last year and love the stuff, but if I get out to deep enough water, my $20 spool runs out.

if you

if the water you are in is that deep I suggest that you use a larger spool600 or 1000 yrds but if you are in shore most people back it with mono a couple of pounds heavier than your heaviest drag setting ie
if the spiderwire is 30lb test use 10 lb mono and keep your drag setting under the 8 lbs.
