Bass in "Deeper" water?

I know they are moving to deeper water, but how deep ? As far as Long Island Sound, say in the middle ?

Not necessarily the middle...

They will stay fairly close to shore as long as they have deeper (15'+) water nearby. Look for rocky shores with steep drop offs. They will move in closer after dark, especially with a high tide.
