Cod Trip??
Whaddya say? Any interest in an organized Cod Trip this fall?
Last year, we got "weathered out" with waves taller than Slip holding a ditch rod straight up...
Should we give it another shot this year?
Suggestions for where and what boat? Other than the Andy Lynn
How about it Capesams - got room for 20 on your boat

If we get enough interested we'll put one together... I already have one other person lined up for a cod trip

Cool... Not sure yet if before or after the holidays so we'll see how that pans out.
Last year we tried to keep the trip around Plymouth because it was central to the guys in Mass and those from Rhody and Foxwoods. Any suggestions on a boat? Other than the Andy Lynn?
Thanks

It's not so much my experience that put me off but the experiences of numerous people that I know. Some guys from work, others friends I fish with, and some relatives have all been underwhelmed by their experiences on the Andy Lynn... We actually tried to use them last year too but the weather was too bad...

Hmmm..
I could be easily convinced to go. OUCH !! OK, OK I'll go.
I have gone out from Plymouth before and I agree to
avoid the AL. (I have also heard stories)
We went on a smaller boat which held about 20-25 people.
I am trying my best to remember her name....Capt. Brady I think.
It is right there next to the others. Boat name is Anne Marie (MAYBE).
Anyway,
The captain is great, but fishing success depends on where he would take us.

Depends on who captains the boat. They seem to take you on a long boat ride when you can stay inshore and get more fishing time. I have heard good things about Walshes but have never been on their boat. The Yankee Fleet is good also but you will be fishing with alot of anglers as they crowd it. I like the Andy Lynn's drift fishing trip because you fish one side of the boat and DO NOT anchor. I have had good luck but its a long ride out with not alot of fishing time in a fairly small boat but we could charter the whole boat ourselves. Many of the boats will stop running soon and the weekend after Thanksgiving seems to be when many shut down. AL runs all winter.

Sounds like a good idea and the inshore catch has been good from the reports I've heard.

Wlash boat....
I know it's a hike for some folks but..
last time out we where fishing 1/2 hour from the dock.
The bad thing is they only run till the end of the month.
I have to get out there one more time.

Capt John Boats were catching haddock as well as cod on Stellwagon Bank. Thats about a 45 to 55 minute ride for them out of Plymouth Harbor. They provide bait and will rent tackle.

Bloo I was on it the next day. It took about three hours to leave the dock, it was overheating. After the problem was fixed we went out. I had 6 keepers (3 cod, 3 haddock) but many got the skunk and weren't happy. Myself I don't like the Capt. John boats would rather head north.
