overheating cause
went out yesterday with a few people and after about 30 seconds at 4500 rpms the motor powered down and the temp light went on.
tell tail was pissin the entire time.
I am happy that the motor protects itself but after I turned it off and waited a bit then started up again, no issues for the rest of the day.
maybe a bag or something? she is almost due for a new impeller. Not a great feeling when your trying to head out a few miles.
its a suzuki df115 05 with 190hrs.

All good advice. Do you have a water pressure gauge? Typically the pressure drops off significantly when the impeller starts to go. If it reads normal now then I would go with the debris theory and just keep an eye on it.
Good luck!

thanks for all the replies on this guys. I just have the all in one gauge that suzuki puts out in 05 and 06, not sure if it's changed in 07 and on. I think I will be investing in a water pressure gauge this off season.
Like I said I'm almost at my 200 hours so the impeller will be changed, my predicament is that I have a 7 day vineyard trip coming up at the end of the month and I would hate to have the boat out of commission for it.
Im not too concerned if it's a computer or anything major since I have warranty for the next year and then most likely extending it.
Heres hoping all is fine for my next few local trips.

yep, i raised it, all was clear.
i'm going with the bag or seaweed theory. i'll let them know when I go in for service but Im willing to wager it's already logged in the computer somewhere.

Same exact thing happend to me three weeks ago off Ptown. Even though it ran OK after it cooled had water pump replaced as it was due anyway.
