Ok NOW Palin's daugher is pregnant...
Out of wedlock too!
Palin confirms daughter's pregnancy
By Steve Holland
Monday, 1 September 2008
The Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has announced that her 17-year-old daughter is pregnant, in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.
Bristol Palin, one of Palin's five children with her husband, Todd, is about five months pregnant and is going to keep the child and marry the father, the Palins said in a statement released by the campaign of Republican presidential candidate John McCain.
Bristol Palin made the decision on her own to keep the baby, McCain aides said.
"We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us," the Palins' statement said.
"Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support," the Palins said.
The Palins asked the news media to respect the young couple's privacy.
"Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family. We ask the media, respect our daughter and Levi's privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates," the statement concluded.
Senior McCain campaign officials said McCain knew of the daughter's pregnancy when he selected Palin last week as his vice presidential running mate, deciding that it did not disqualify the 44-year-old governor in any way.
In the short period since she was announced last Friday, Palin has helped to energize the Republican Party's conservative base, giving the McCain camp fresh energy going into the campaign for the November 4th election against Democrat Barack Obama.
McCain officials said the news of the daughter's pregnancy was being released to rebut what one aide called "mud-slinging and lies" circulating on liberal blog sites.
According to these rumors, Sarah Palin had faked a pregnancy and pretended to have given birth in May to her fifth child, a son named Trig who has Down syndrome. The rumor was that Trig was actually Bristol Palin's child and that Sarah Palin was the grandmother.
A senior McCain campaign official said the McCain camp was appalled that these rumors had not only been spread around liberal blog sites and partisan Democrats, but also were the subject of heightened interest from mainstream news media.
"The despicable rumors that have been spread by liberal blogs, some even with Barack Obama's name in them, is a real anchor around the Democratic ticket, pulling them down in the mud in a way that certainly juxtaposes themselves against their 'campaign of change,'" a senior aide said.
Abstinence only eh? Seems to have worked FANTASTIC.

Afraid?
Wow, she accepted the VP with her family in this current state.
She put her CAREER above her family.
Wonder what she'll do to the country.

You folks do realize that these candidates are people......just like us......with the same life problems that we have! They are no better and no worse. I am guessing given her Governorship that her husband is taking care of the family duties for the most part.

Yes I think a lot of Obamas staff are afraid of him losing. Like I said yesterday; the mud slinging will be heavy.
And on her accepting the nod as VP candidate; Its not like she can put time on hold. Life throws people curve balls. I feel she will overcome these things.
Like Larry said; How many parents have total contol over their kids??? Alaska is 14:1 in male to female ratio. She has most likely had a bunch of young males chasing her....
Just keep drinking the Kool-Aid

I believe she would consider it serving her country. Most families don't have the ability to quit their jobs to take care of family matters. I would think that she is the bread winner in the family.
I doubt they will choose abortion as a quick way of dealing with irresponsability.
And I thought you're pro-drug. Oh ya, just pot

That's just a little needling. Jim Jones got over 900 people to commit suicide in Jonestown approx 30 years ago. His followers believed him to be a prophet or messiah.
I see some of Obama's followers thinking like Jones "flock".

Why can't one campaign get caught breaking into the other campaign headquarters like the good old days. A couple of felonies later and everyone is looking for someone named deepthroat, not Linda Lovelace, to skewer. This stuff is awful mamby pamby from both sides. C'mon let the air out of someone's tires at least.

Ya know what burns me.. How can a woman be expected to be a role model of the platform of her political party when she cant be a role model for her daughter?? If you ask me Most republican politicians who are the loudest about living their lives to the highest morals are usually the ones who have all the skeletons in the closet...

I was watching CNN. It's killing Blizer to have to cover the RNC. He wants to make the17 year old kid today's top story. It's actually kind off comical if you watch him.

Because it is something to poke in her "squeaky clean" demeanor.
They are grasping at straws.

McCain knew about this pregnancy before they asked her to be VP.
The liberal media and blogs will have a field day.
But Obama and Biden need to be very careful on how they handle commenting on this. To me, it looks like it could be a trap.
Or, the RNC was adamantly against her selection and this is another example of McCain being his own man.
I don't see her as being as good a selection as she was four days ago.

The religeous right is more tolerant then you give them credit. They will welcome her daughters decision and commend the young man for taking responsability.

Yet the religious right went out of their freaking minds about Gloucester.
You can't have it both ways.

you guys confuse the religious right with the repub party. Thats like saying the pink army (or whatever those berkely cooks are) are representative of the Dems.
How is this an ethical issue? Who lied about it? How do you know what her parents preached? The daughter is old enough for the age of consent, made her decision and now has to live with it. What I preach is ACCOUNTABILITY, don't make me pay for the support of that child.
So it looks like we have a woman with a bunch of kids, one on the way to Iraq, one with Down Syndrome, one pregnant. Sounds like you cant find someone more in touch with America than that!
