So, What's Everybody Working on This Winter

Every year there seems to be a plug style that everybody plays with in the Off-season. last year a lot of guy messed around with Eel skin plugs and conrads....year before Roman Nikes seemed to be popping up a lot here.

What's everybody want to try this year while hiding in their Hobbit Hole for the winter.

Myself, I'm gonna mess around with some Cowboys and Dannies.

also gonna try making some SS Bullet knock-offs....and a larger version of the SS needle, make them about the size of a BM Needle.

What say Ye....

I'll be spending a little more time on hand carved bunkers.. the ones I make now work, but I know I can make them better...

Working on another "fat boy" style darter... more suited for calmer water... also going to do a little more with laminated wood, more for weight/action than looks... I've found that west system G-flex epoxy bonds as strong as the original wood and is not effected at all by salt water... one of my test subjects lasted through approx 100-125 fish with only a BLO sealing, no primer or paint...

A good run is better than a bad stand!

Since this is my first year building, my main goal is just trying to make more of the plugs that have been successful for me so far. I need to learn how to simplify my plug making process. I'd like to do more at the same time. Maybe a duplicator will show up for Christmas??????

I have a lot of requests for darters from friends so I'll be trying those too.

If so drop me a PM

I am going to finish up the Conrads that I promised a few people. With an eelskin attached they swam lovely. I am also going to do some smaller, heavier hawgish style top water plugs and some flat lipped med. size goo goo's, and some more Lido falptails. Of course I have more Hawgs and large boat swimming plugs I need to finish. Lots of owesies too. Hell If I just finished what I already have turned I'd be busy for 5 years.

I want to get a better casting howdy that will dipsy doodle in big water, and will still be able to go sub-surface in quiet water. Got a lot of weighting questions in that formula....

My shop is finally dry after repeated floodings so I'm going to take care of the long lost of owsies first. Then I'm working on trolling plugs, poppers, and needles.

More bottle plugs. Thanks to some great input from Lu and numbskull last year I had some decent success with some 1 3/4 oz bottles this year. Need to work on a jig to do the faces on those. Also want to try a smaller version. Probably another hand carved or two as well
