Feb 15th night out with S-B . COM
Don has the Tiverton rod and gun club all set for Feb 15th and he will supply the music. We will be able to use the kitchen to cook and warm up food. I know we have a few members like M+D that want to give items to raffle off and I will work on that end of it. All money that is collected will go to S-B .Com to help keep us all connected. Don had talked about a $10 ticket to get in and I think this is a good price. Don and I will pay for the club and the use of the kitchen so all ticket sales will also go straight to S-B. Now I need to know how many we can count on to come, as this will not cost the board anything we could stand to raise a good sum for the site. Someone had asked about wifes or girl freinds and I think thats fine and also think the $10 ticket would cover for both you and your guest. Now lets hear who will come and also what food you can bring???

I would not be able to attend, but I would like to donate some of my plugs for the raffle.
PM me the ship to address.

GB & Don, again thanks for doing this! And thanks for beating me to the punch on getting the notice up. Don - how many people can this comfortably hold?
Pretty much like GB said, the proceeds of this night out will go to keep the site running and doesn't support anything beyond the monthly server fees and the software to run the board. This is one of the few sites that does not Sell anything to stay online and for the past few years I've been putting coin out of my own pocket - in addition to what we get from our few sponsorships - to keep this board free and pretty honest & open. All of which I think is our greatest asset of an online community, second only to the contributions of knowledge, comaraderie, and community of our members.
I never really expect to get compensated for the time I put into Striped-Bass.com. That time can often exceed 20-30 hours per month. I do it because I want to do it and I've gotten so much from it but I do need to offset the monetary costs involved. This function where can all meet and prove to out BetterHalf that the Internet is not just a bunch of crazies , goes a long way to helping the site out.
I think we can also have a door prize & small raffle for those that attend. Got Stripers donated a lot of his Ledgerunner baits and Fisherwoman and Baitcaster donated an assortment of there hand tied teaser rigs that we can use for this too (Thanks Guys & Gal ).
The only major confilct on the 8th is the MSBA banquet is that night up in Braintree so that may keep a few members from attending but this looks to be a great event.
I also want to add that I'm very impressed by the way people have been stepping out recently to help support the site. It is a major help, greatly appreciated, and will not be forgotten!
Again BIG THANKS to everyone!
PS - I asked my wife last night and she agreed to make her famous Cuttyhunk Terriaki Shepards Pie

Feb 8th, I'll be at a writers conference and doing the Worcester Show that weekend...sorry, but I can't do it on that day or weekend. 2-14 or 2-15 is good for me however. As I said before, I'll be happy to put on a special little video show for the folks that support SB.

I hope I can make it, my wife is convinced SB is a cult.
If I can make it, I'll try to dig up some fresh quohogs or steamers.

How many people can the gun club hold?
It might be better to shift the date to the next weekend, Laptew draws a heck of a crowd, and it's a guarantee sell out.
Just a thought.

Count me in for myself and maybe one guest, depends on if guys are bringing their wifes/girlfriens or if this looks to be a guys night out sort of deal. John you still got that big box of plastic? This might be a good night to raffle that off, if not let me know and I will get you some stuff for a raffle. Sounds like a fun night to me, can someone put up some directions to the hall, thanks.

It looks like a good date for me. I'll have to ask HER to be sure. I don't know if Smokey will be in cause he and his brothers work the free youth archery exhibit for the Century Sportsman's Club at the Worcester show. Maybe he can get Sunday duty there which will free him up for Sat with us. I'll find out.

If I do attend I can make bring a chicken/rice dish that I make(Hope ya like things spicy!!!) and or I could have the wife make her famous pasta salad?

John , you should change the thread title to feb 15th. I tried but it only changed in the body of the thread. I can't figure out how to change the thread title.

John and GB:
I have noted the date in INK on my calender.
I will not be bringing my other half, (don't ask).
I will dig out something to add for the raffle and
I'll probably bring something gooey for dessert.
Hows that?
