Safe ice

Well, it took some searcing but we found safe ice here on godd 'ol Cape Cod. ESL, Stifftip and I made a day of it. The fishing was slow (really slow for ESL and Stiffy) but we ate well enough.

A couple anemic small Brown Trout for me and some perch and a few run offs. Hopefully by this weekend things will be better with some continued cold weather except for Thursday which is supposed to be near 40 degrees.

All the places we really wanted to hit were unsafe still.

Stiffy showed us how to quickly clean some perch and if the ice gets better my participation in Plugfest will surely suffer as I would rather be out fishing than spending time in my basement. Oh well!

I'm going to head out on Sunday morning for a couple of hours to see what I can catch at one of the local ponds.....I have to admit my area is great for ice-fishing....I have 5 ponds all within a 5 minute ride from the house.

Nice fish there Flap....what was on the menu while you were out there?

Smile

Well since Stiffy didn't bag any venison this year we had to suffer with homefries, Canadian bacon, eggs and bagels for breakfast.

ESL forgot the luncheon grub at home. But breakfast was very filling and we ate late so it wasn't that bad.

Stiffy had perch fillets but left them at home as well.

I had the pan, the stove, the utensils, the seasonings and such as well.

They would be lost without me sometimes.

Why even try.........
