Dry-pants

Has anyone tried these out in the surf? I would assume they are good up to the waist but that might be it. Tried doing a search but couldn't really find anything.

I have a pair of LL Bean bootless guide pants. Like them for light conditions and walking.
I particularly like the fact that I can change shoes, depending on the conditions, corkers for rocks, sneakers for beach.

Personally, I'd stay away from them,.... there are ankle deep spots that I fish that still send water high enough to do damage. A wave that might brake at your knees is still sending water upward along your legs...up toward the creases of where your wader belt is trying to keep water out....I've come to learn over the years ,,,that water has a way of finding a path in or out of an imperfect seal...and unless your in a dry suit, it's imperfect.
Plus...you'll be limited on that day that you need to get out a just a little further and those small rollers are still high enough to keep you back away from where you need to be...........just my opinion, I'm sure there are scenarios that would accommodate those style pants..(fresh water stream? ?. .........but opinions are like right?..

...it finally happened, there are no more secret spots

I tried dry pants last year, but they didnt work out. Within 2 hours, they ripped and I was wet. That said, they were a cheap pair to begin with. Youre better off just getting waders
