Im looking for strictly an eeling blank for the canal.. nothing else.. Was thinking the gsb 1201M or ara 1205.. its going to be set up for spinning.. the last few years I've used conventional w/ 1213M or 1322 but want to go spinning for eels this year.. any advice is appreciated.. thanks

Can I ask why you want to go to spinning. Personally I think drifting eels with a spinning gear is more of a hinderance than anything and the only time I will resort to it is when I have eels to small to throw on conventional gear. But if you must GSB1201m, Arra1205, SSU1201M (what I use for smaller eels) or SSU1201MH.

the only reason I want to go spinning is it can be a pain in the a$$ when all I can get is small eels with the conventional gear.... I figure spinning would be easier.. with large eels, my other sticks work great.

I'm going to suggest either the XRA 1205 or the SSU 120 1MH, because they have the nuts to turn a big fish.
Or you can look into a Rainshadow SU 1208 custom from CMS. IMO it has more lifting power than any of the Lami 10 footers.

That makes more sense. Since you want something for smaller eels I would go with a slower action rod that is easier to load with a smaller bait such as GSB1201M or an SSU 1201M or MH, all have the power to turn big fish in the canal.
