Caught my first Keeper 2009

I hit the water this morning at the crack of 10:30, and by 11:15, I was sitting on top of a big school of fish, rolling all around the boat (thanks to the advise of one of our local S-B experts) .
Caught it on my first cast, a nice 32 incher. I then spent the next hour or so without a hit. It was a great day of fishing, even if it was short. I had to head back in around 12:30 to get the kids from school by 2:00. I think I'll have to head out again tomorrow.

Fired up the grill, salt, pepper, butter & lemon, and some striper fillets, made an excellent dinner tonight. Wife is happy and kids are all ready to go with me on Saturday (they were getting tired of not catching).

That's a good looking dead fish. It looks like it is still alive. Nice fish!!!!!! Did you just ice it on the boat?

Nice fish. The whole livewell thing is to make sure people aren't catching and keeping only to upgrade in case a bigger fish is caught. I do it too with small blues or bonito, but not bass.

When I was a kid I really got discouraged when we got skunked, but a fish like that is sure to get a young'uns blood flowing. Hope you keep catching.

Lots of good sized fish around now. Gotta get out there!

Congrats on a nice fish! No need to use the livewell to keep it alive. You're better off killing it right away and icing it. By keeping it alive, it bangs around in the livewell and can bruise the flesh. Blues are even worse to keep alive.

Conservatism is not about leaving people behind. Conservatism is about empowering people to catch up, to give them tools at their disposal that make it possible for them to access all the hope, all the promise, all the opportunity that America offers. - Marco Rubio
