				a Profound Statement

 BY Jay LENO
when he said...

"When I was a kid, there was comedy all over TV , and it was fun to watch, whether it was Carol Burnett or any of the sitcoms," he said. "You'd have a whole night of comedy, and now everything is very serious and it's all murder ."

interesting (horrible) to see father's killing the whole family like it's going out of style ...with the latest professor actually digging and getting in his own grave before he committed suicide ....

Makes you wonder doesn't it? |

				 | I really think a lot of it is media driven - people get desensitized to violence - especially kids - and it loses it's shock value...
Kids watch too much extremely graphic violence and they lose the ability to separate truth from fiction - without a doubt, it's ****ed up, Rav |

				 | In those times the TV kept the family together as we could all watchand laugh together.

During school nights we were only allowed to watch 1 hour a night
but weekends there was so much to watch as a family.

Jackie Gleason, Ed Sullivan, Steve Allen and all kinds of varitey shows.

Fun stuff when the only violence was the cowboy/indian movies.

the only violence then was little Joe and Haus Cartwright knocking guys around the saloon.... well we did have combat... i guessbut now, there's so much high tech Horror with movies like SAW
and its so gloriously Gory with guts spilling every where or meat hooks dragging girls off to the slaughterhouse its so totally different.

				 | Ya Rav, Haus Cartwright, real violent guy.
Then in the early 60's there was Peter Gunn on Monday nights and Here Comes Bronson with his Harley Sportster.
You'd come home from a hard day at work and see Bronson
pull up next to a family in station wagon full of kids, give a nod and take off,
all the time wishing it was you.
 Great entertainment. |
