DRYER WOES

[Plum Crazy]

My not so old dryer( about 4 yrs. old) is not drying anything.
It's maybe 3 years old. Everything is hot inside and spinning but three hours later still wet.
I had birds in the vent during the spring.
Is it possible they left nests and debris in my vent?
It is up really high on the second floor. Not easy to get up there.
Could the vent being blocked cause this problem?
In case anyone is wondering, yes I clean the lint trap regularly. I even have those brushes "as seen on TV'.
God I hope those stupid brushes are not the problem.

yep ---some how the lint hose is full of lint....
or some other obstruction...

if your delicate items have been getting real hot

it's not able to breathe anymore or get rid of the moisture

I wouldnt run it until you verify the outlet pipe is clear Nancy. That's an easy dryer fire.

When i was working a Job in GEORGIA at a 54 condo deal......

i had to go up on the roof and clean out the lint traps up there

Thanks guys. Now Rick will be happy to know that is at the tippity top of the honey do list.
I actually think we can do it from inside as opposed to a 75 foot ladder.(outside)
He will have to disconnect the hose, move the dryer (no big deal) maybe shorten the hose, cause it is only about 6 inches from the wall and clean it out. Sorry Rick, the favorite fishing clothes only get cleaned when my dryer works.
I know it is a fire waiting to happen.
Someone tell me again why we are supposed to like birds? ( I think it is a general consensus that birds have just about ruined my life)-pretty sad?
