i was wondering would a hard top look allright on this boat

i have full canvas now but its a pain putting it up i like the shade of a hard top and the bars to hold on to i just dont know if it would look good on this type boat as you can see the front is useless for fishing its to high anyway and then i like the idea of rod holders up top what do a few of you think of this idea and does anyone know about how much they go for and who i would use!! thanks for input

Ahhh MrMacey, that pic IS NOT a hardtop, that's what they call a "T-TOP" like a canvas over aluminum/metal framing, wich you can also put rod holders and stuff on.....

Now---
Is that the actual boat, or a catalog picture of it??

Look in the Boattrader magazine, they ALWAYS have hardtops for small boats! or try there website "boattrader.com" and go to the PARTS-SEARCH and type in HARD-TOP and your price range..

Good Luck,
Mike

That's considered a hard top that happens to follow a t-top idea closely - even though it actually looks like a laced sunbrella type. T-tops are on center consoles - similar toi that but different

Well,
I HAVE ONE on the 26 searay!!!....it's NOT a hardtop, a hardtop has a HARD top surface (fiberglass, etc), NOT canvas or similar soft material......Yah john yer right, The sunbrella is probablywhat it is called but not H/T.

BUT all i said is that pic MrMacey showed WAS-NOT a hardtop, am i wrong?????

BTW, C/Cs are not the only boats w/ t-tops.

Back on topic:

MrMacey, if you can't buy a full hardtop- BUT you want the rails to grab onto and to mount stuff on ,. You should buy a small aluminum or s/s RADAR ARCH......they are cool looking to

Mr. Macy, the only word of caution I would give you if you purchase a canvas top. Depending on how they are configured they can be a b!@#$ to fish around. Fished with a guy who had a canvas top that was rolled up like a roll bar across the transom and you couldn't play a fish around the whole stern of the boat without getting mixed up with the top. The boat was like the picture you first posted except without the hottie........

SSX - The one he first posted would probably be called a hard top by most... As for the ultimate description, who really cares...

Guys - if you intend to do some good casting, hard tops (unless well forward), T-Tops, & Radar Arches SUCK to fish around. If you are trolling, dead sticking, or anything like that you may be fine but they do really get in the way of casting, certainly on smaller boats - that's the dilemma I have in the boats I'm looking at... Thinking of modular myself

That last shot posted by SSX is almost exactly what I have on the Pursuit 2860.
And JohnR is right on the money, it's too far aft!!!! Drives me nuts when anyone clocks a rod on the aluminum cross frame. Totally reduces the amount of room to fish. Just MHO

The SSX green top looks nice . I like the bow for throwing plugs to keep out of the top and poles .. but the hottie in a swim-suit I'd say no t-top and put a string hammock up front.
