MA Administrative Fees: Internet usage!
Just an FYI, thought the internet was there to both expedite and save everyone time and money??? Just renewed my boat registration and got charged an extra $3 since I did on-line instead of mailing and thus having a real person (aka state employee) spend time to type in the information!
What a rip-off!
New Administrative Handling Fee
Beginning with the 2010 calendar year, a new administrative handling fee will be charged to defray expenses associated with Internet licensing.

Combine this mentality with the new fully-automated toll system. "Active immediately, tolls will be $2 higher to defray expenses associated with automated toll installations."

They'll probably have a monthly billing system that allows you to contyest a charge, but ONLY up to 30 days after said charge was applied. That way they can cover their a$$es and still rake in the money.
How about the state's sick time buy-back policy?
Does anyone in the REAL world have a company that will pay you for unused sick time, that you can save forever? I didn't think so.
These POS in power will screw us out of every cent we have, and then claim poverty when we call them on these shady deals.
Hell, they were readily able to change the state sales tax without ANY public input, so why should these scams be any different?
Funny, I don't recall ever being asked if I wanted these added taxes, fee and fines. Do you?
I say we need a clean sweep of the state house. It's time to tell them to go screw themselve and get a real job in the real world. maybe if they had to pay the same fee, fines, taxes and bills that we have to pay just to try and survive in this state, they might get a clue as to how hated they really are, and how disgusted we are with what THEY DID TO OUR STATE!
OK, rant is over and it's back to work.

Not directly related to the fee issue, but ceratinly a bureaucratic BS issue none the less is the issue with the mayor of Lawrence, Willie Mantegua (?) who is also a state Rep.
Double dipping is coming back into style again.
Please explain how a person can do 2 jobs successfully when they both require his full attention, and he claims he is doing this for the people (at least that what he sounds like he's saying, but what do I know, I'm not bilingual.)
This guy had the chief of police demoted because he wasn't bilingual, yet the mayor himself can barely piece together a cohesive sentence. I hear his interviews on the radio, and it makes Mumbles Menino sound like Einstein!
He won't step down from one of the jobs because he claims he can do both jobs equally well. Now he's voting on a bill that will get the state to "lend" his city 35 million.
Here is a person who has his ex-wife, his wife and his girlfriend all on the city payroll. His girlfriend was reportedly going around telling workers that if they didn't do what she asked, she'd have them fired (And she did).
Then there's the fact that Martha Coakley hasn't done anything about this corrupt situation, probably because she used his offices for her failed senate campaign and because he was a staunch supporter of her campiagn. Gee, you think she'd actually do anything about this without incriminating herself? Probably not, but what do you expect in Massachusetts?

Just get it at your town hall---by law, the town clerk's office can only charge a $1 service fee.

Let's see.... They closed how many offices? Laid off how many workers (that weren't political family leeches) and in some cases cut back on hours of operation, an now they NEED extra money for them to actually do their job?
This state is so totaly screwed, it's embarrassing.
Maybe we can take a page from the RI school system and fire all the A-hole politicians that we have right now.
I can bet that if these no good, bottom s#^^^^^&g leeches had to actually work for a living, they'd be the biggest bunch of pussies we've seen since Roberto Duran's "No mas" incident back in the last century.
I think the RMV/DMV is a joke.
It's sadly humorous how they CLAIM to keep up with the times with the systems they use, and their "friendly" approach, yet the system sucks and the people are miserable.
Note that for the most part the workers are miserable because the a-holes in charge are more concerned with lining their pockets and advancing their careers than actually doing their jobs correctly and ethically.
If any of us EVER did what most politician do EVERYDAY, we'd be in prison....PERIOD!
Something has to be done, and SOON, before they start taxing our rights to breathe!

Our local "illustrious" leader has overturned the $5.00 fee.
See what happens when good people stand up in numbers against evil?
Duval Patrick had to backpedal when the public outcry was louder than the sound of the "kaching-kaching" going off in his head.
That doesn't mean he and the state won't screw us over some other way, it just means that WE called them on this particular issue and WON!!!
