Florida Fishing Report

Well, not much to report. Thanks to Piemma and all the guys who gave advice. We did have a great time fishing with a back country guide, but no prize fish to show for it. We were going out of Marco Island FL.On the advice of a friend we went out with Captain Tim on Get Hooked Charters. He was great and knew the aREA like the back of his hand. Very tricky sand flats and bars and a million islands. We caught tons of fish on jigs tipped with shrimp and a few on the fly...small mangrove snappers, catfish, a million ladyfish and finally some nice sea trout that we filleted and had for dinner. Great wildlife....dolphins everywhere, lots of osprey and a bald eagle. The gator shown was 3 feet from our car in the Everglades. Huge. That's my son getting a ladyfish on a fly.

Hey Joe. Glad you had a good time. Marco is really a great place.

I forgot to mention for you to have dinner at the Marco Island Inn (I think that's the name) Use to be a private Tarpon club. They have Tarpon scales on the wall with the weights of the Tarpon written on them.

No boat, back in the suds.

That place sounds really good. I did have some good meals. Ate a lot of fish, including one of my favorites, red snapper. Also did the tourista thing and ate alligator chunks with my son....pretty tasty.
