OTW this AM

Anyone catch OTW this morning? They were fishing the west end of the canal with pencils. Nice to see some "surf" fishing for a change. definitely got the juices flowing. just wish they would have got some shots of the fish hitting the plugs....

That show was on awhile back. Wading, a good rip, nice bass and if my memory is correct one of the fisherman made his pencil poppers.

Agreed, good show.

I believe the camera angles were trying not to totally burn the spot so they could not get a straight out shot of the bass hooking up way out. Dave makes some sweet plugs and is a real good fisherman That episode has been on a few times.

if you're serious, I can help you get started. It really is cool and rewarding catching fish on your own plugs, addicting too.

That was precisely the reason. I thought they did a good job obscuring it. That video was taken during the legendary mackerel event two years ago. I fished at that spot for a week straight and it was the most amazing fishing from shore that I have ever experienced. The night before they shot this video I lost the biggest fish I have ever had from shore (unless it was foul hooked). Fought it for a long time and she finally broke me off around a rock. Whenever I see this episode of OTW TV and I see Chris Megan get that nice fish it always brings back the memory of the one lost and not the other tons of fish I caught that week.

I'll gladly burn the spot via pm to anyone who's interested...of course this would be in exchange for some back issues of yankee magazine or the like.

It's not the bait
At the end of your line
It's the fishing hole
Where all the fish is blind
