Keeping it Chrome

I'm wondering if anyone has any tips about top-coating chrome paint. My attempts are greatly dulling the chrome to a silver, even gray.

Couldn't find any good input using the Search function.

Thank you for any help.

I don't think anything will really work except for a marine or automotive 2 part poly. I usually don't topcoat the chrome paint - it seems to last longer and look better w/o the topcoat.

Thanks.

These are bluefish lures. Wood is rock maple which is sealed, primed, then a white epoxy-paint base coat, then the chrome spray...I suppose if I just leave it as is and re-chrome when it gets really wrecked I should be good.

Next ones I do I might topcoat over the epoxy-paint and then chrome/re-chrome as necessary.
