How to cast into 75 mph winds

I actually did this during the most recent summer nor'easter ...

tie a dropper loop in the middle of a stout piece of mono leader (80 lb) and then tie a sinker loop at the end.

attach your favorite teaser/fly to the middle dropper loop.

attach a 3 or 4 ounce bank sinker to the sinker loop.

you now have a castable lure you can get out there even with stout wind gusts.

note: not my idea, i read about this in one of Frank Daignault's books - it works.

8-9 (10-11?) years ago I was launching red gill teasers of the Andrea into 50MPH winds with a 3oz egg sinker. Caught plenty of Clammer size 3 # blooofish.

sometimes you have no choice to but fish with the wind blowing in your face. if there's white water, there might be fish so this is just another tool in the box.

I would rather fish with a good wind in my face. Fishy looking white water with bait at the feet. Of course I would prefer the first day of it because after that you have the chance of dirty water.

Gattafish siad heavy bucktail with no rind. That would help but if you threw on a curlytail grub the resistance is way less and you still have some action on the back end.

Like John said, Race Pt 50 mph northeast four oz sinker and a white red gill and just slowly drag along the bottom, bass to 30 lbs. Lasted four days like this till the wind died and the fish moved on.

I really wish Pt. Jude made a 3 or 3.5oz PoJee. I'd probably by 5 or 6 the day they came out. They cast like a missile.
