I choose the Abu 6600C4
I choice the Abu 6600C4 today as my Striper Reel, I think its a good choice. I already have a C3 which I love for catfishing, so I am going to try the C4.

You should like it! I beleive the 4th bearing (as in C4) is a levelwind bearing. The 66 is a 6000 size center thumb release. The only draw back I have seen with the 66 models is sometimes line capacuty is reduced. With braid that shouldn't matter.
The bearings on that one may be inside the spool or outside running in a race. If its the ouside style with the 2 different bearing sizes , try to keep it dry and watch the bigger of the two bearings for corrosion.

I have a 6600CW that was made in Sweden back in the early 90s that I still fish. Had it rebuilt and I love it. The "W" stands for wide spool.

I have a 6600 Morum beautiful reel machined from solid aluminum blocks like a Calcutta. Cast great etc. Trouble was it had that external large bearing on one side and that bearing rusted. Just a bad place to put a bearing.
Also , since its not a standard Abu spool bearing size , its harder to find and more expensive.
Too bad , its a really nice reel otherwise.

Like mentioned above - upgrade the drag washers. See if you can find a place that has the Smoothie or Extreme Smoothie drag washers.
