That is F'n INSANE! Did you catch that fish Bob? Did you see it get cut open?

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope. ~John Buchan

No way.
Look at the width behind the fish's head vs how wide it is at the base of the tail, right behind the pooper..........
It would be like a human with 50 inch wide hips, and a 30 inch waist. You'd have shelves on either side to rest your beers. Opposite of a spare tire.
I don't ever think I have accused it, but that is a photo shop job.

There was a girl I went out with 25 years ago, she was about 5'5" and probably 105 #s.
I saw her a couple of years ago and I think she fits that description now.

To me it looks like a lake caught striper, like Lake Mead or some other striper holding lake. Or maybe just a deformed beast

About 1983, in a strong current, I once hooked a good striper in the lower lip area and reeled him in with his mouth forced open. He was good size but didn't fight much since unknown to me his stomach cavity was filling up with water. I put the fish down and was amazed at the girth of the fish thinking this was probably one of my heaviest fish ever. The fish then proceded to pee for the next couple of minutes what seemed like gallons of water, and my big fish continually shrank down to a final weight of 35 lbs.

It had a look similar to that fish there when I took him out of the water.

I used to work with a woman like that. We called her triple-ass.

It looks like it has eggs. You'll see plenty of fish like that on the Delaware River and Susquehanna Flats in March/April. Late in the spawning run, those fish look like they're ready to pop.

Thats a fresh water / hybrid striper... possibly a "wiper" Look at photos of inland, fresh water lake striped bass... The proportions of the species are very abnormal... what you are looking at is actually a common occurence in areas like those

It could be full of the yo-yo weights that the unscrupulous market fishermen use. Remember the pot-bellied derby fish that was full of these weights?

Yeah I blame the yo yo fisherman of the MV derby also.No other logical explanation.Probably 4 or 5 yoyo pogey's inside there.I guess once you get the taste of a lead filled yoyo pogey there's no going back.

Yup. Sorry. Here is a quote on the subject from the MV Gazette (- 11/30/07 - Vineyard Gazette Online
Lev Wlodyka of Chilmark, a respected commercial and recreational rod and reel angler, caught a 57.56-pound striped bass; when cut open the fish was found with nearly two pounds of lead and metal parts in its stomach and intestines.

That looks like a prespawn fish from down south with miles of pogies at her disposal... Caught many fish that looked similiar. Maybe not as exxagerated. Also have seen and caught fish similiar to that in the hudson... To healthy looking, You can see the bulges for the most part when a fish is loaded with yo-yo wieghts, it would also have alot of redness on the belly, caught a bunch that were loaded over the years...
You catch a 47"-48" fish down south over the winter and its well over 50lbs. The fish we get in new england are way leaner, no comparison.. Theres only a few areas in new england where yo-yoing even exists anymore with only a few guys doing it effectivly...

So people in MV aren't pouring lead pogies and wrapping yo yo string around them and yoyoing for big bass.
