My neighbor hasn't been able to get through a season without it being in the shop for atleast a month combined. He's the only one I know with one though so it might just be his.

Jim White (White Ghost Charters in EG RI) blew up 2 of them brand new before he got one to run right. personally, I am a Yami 4 stroke fan. Put 700 hard hours on a 90HP without a hiccup.

Got my 200 at Eagle too, great guys to deal with...no BS....
You'll love it. Its so so smooth, quiet, powerful, and reliable....
Great peace of mind when I head 30 miles offshore.
Only got about 50 hours on mine so far so I can't say much about longevity other than so far so good. Lots of guys I know have em' and love em'.
I would like to upgrade to the i-command system, but that may have to wait a couple of years.

Great motors, I have a 225hp etec bought when they first came out in2003.
Bombardier bought evinrude in 2001, up graded the plant and brought back the quality, they have a strict quality control program where an employee can recall the motor for trouble shooting as it goes along the assembly line.
That company is now owned by the employees and they have begun to put fifteen million into up grading the plant once again.
They are just as fuel efficiant as a four stroke, burn cleaner, cost less then a four stroke, etc: and are used by the California water patrol that have the highest standard of air quality.
Only draw back that I see is the cost of synthetic oil, around my way it is about fifty bucks a gallon.
Only rich people buy four strokes.

I put a 115 Etec on my Seacraft last year. Quiet, powerful, sips gas, easy upkeep, one touch winterizing, extended warranty. You'll love it.

It is if you are under warranty.
Also while under warranty you should only use OMC parts

there is a setting in the ecu to run tcw3. should not have any effect on warranty if it is an option when setting up the motor. don't know for sure because I am not a dealer but can't imagine any dealer giving you grief if they set it up to run that way.
one more not is that you waill not void warranty if you don't run brp oil. as long as whatever you are using meets manufacturer specs there is no issue. there are laws against them voiding warranties for isues like this.

In 2007 I considered an E-TEC 150-HP but they were running north of $13,500 as they were still relatively new back then.

Van: thank you for the headsup on the lower cost.
Finally found it. Had to go through the ordering page to get the shipping cost. They should do away with the shipping cost on the first page state by state, it is misleading.
Just ordered a case. Save about 10 bucks per gallon.
Once again, Thanx.

Glad to help.....
Someday i would like to get enough guys together and do a group buy on a drum. The price of that oil is ridiculous.

Thanks for your bantor Van and Fly Rod. I ordered a case of XD100 oil for myself at the above price and link you supplied. PS: I really like my E-tec 115 on my Whaler 190, even though I have to deal with an external oil reservoir once again.
