Musso Madness
I have been wanting to build some Musso Senior and Junior metal lipped deep divers and trollers every since i read Bassdoser's article several years ago. Plus i wanted to try painting the unique scallop pattern on these sweet designs.
I am hoping these will be good plugs (esp the dark purple sr deep divers) in the canal this spring.
Planning to rig them with cut 4/0s with a tail flag with matching color and some flash.

If you have an original, look closely at the lip side on.
The stock Pikie and lefty lips are bent flatter than the musso lips and the plug will not act the same. You need to rebend them to get it right on the maples and pines. Remember, those plugs are designed to dig. Took me a whole season to figure that out.

What is the proper angle to bend the lip from the vertical face that sits up against the the front of the plug... about 135 degrees?

Yeah there is!!
BT was nice enough to give me a print out which was a true size version of a scalloped musso, think he did it in word document.
Double the image, cut it out and stencil is done!!
I like the overhead projection plastic cuts real easy and you get lots of plugs out of it.
