Why not early May? GWs are temperate water sharks, and prefer water temps in the 50s and 60s to warmer waters.

I'm figuring that the temps out there off Gay Head and Squib are already in the low 50s.

Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools, because they have to say something.

Exclamation

i think it should be legal to chase all the seals into the sea so the Gw's will eat a few and move on,,, and not attack swimmers or boaters.

Wink

Sometimes that shark he looks right into ya. Right into your eyes. And, you know, the thing about a shark... he's got lifeless eyes. Black eyes. Like a doll's eyes. When he comes at ya, doesn't seem to be living... until he bites ya, and those black eyes roll over white and then... ah then you hear that terrible high-pitched screamin'. The ocean turns red, and despite all the poundin' and the hollerin', they all come in and they... rip you to pieces

thats why they call it fishing not catching

After reading this thread I watched Jaws 3. Found it on ON DEMAND. I love the 200 merc Tower of Power pulling 12 water skiers. Second place was the old Kawasaki 440 Jet ski. Stand up model of course.

thats why they call it fishing not catching

There is an extremely temperate area out in the Canyons right now may even be a bit warm for the shark maybe she swam in from that to cooler water?

I spoke to a friend today who works for NOAA out of falmouth I believe and he said there's already an abundance of sharks this year. He works closely with scientists and fishermen....
