Rhode Island recommended Guides and charters

Old Rhode Island Striped Bass Record
70 lbs
55-1/2"
Nov, 1984
Block Island
J. Szabo (Block Island, RI)

The new rhode island striper record belongs to East Greenwich angler Peter Vican He landed a 75.4-pound striped bass, a new state record approved by the state Division of Fish and Wildlife. Block Island Live Eel

but funny enough the RI Dem site has it listed as 76.14 caught by him jul 2008. i think they need a new web designer.

i guess my point of needing a new web person to update was missed, that was straight from the DEM site.

About his last record: He initially weighed it at Twin Maples (at the time the scale was certified to 50#) and then at Snug Harbor. The SH weight was used (75.4). John Sweinton had his scale certified to 100 and the original weight was recognized (76.14).

Why are there no pictures of this beast anywhere?

Good for him. When you break your own state record, you're doing something right. Congrats to the angler on another fish of a lifetime.
