Canvass or leave it up for Irene?

I'm torn between taking my canvass down on my center console or leaving it up, my thinking is a trailer every week at 70 mph; what's a few gusts heavier going to do. If I were on a mooring, I'd definately take it down to reduce the pull on the mooring lines, but sitting in my driveway, without any real flying debris threat close, I'm inclined to leave it up to keep some rain out of the console?

Oh well, I think I'll make that call tomorrow, after a track update.

I'd be more inclined to take down any vinyl surround around the T-top, but you are right trailering @70MPH is likely to do more wear&tear than any Irene!

I just happened to take my vinyl off a week ago for another reason, I'll put back up after Irene (maybe).

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

I would say better safe than sorry, if it's not that much of a project to take it down I would.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day ...
show him where to fish and ... you'll be sorry

I took off all my canvas, cushions, etc, took off outriggers, lowered antennas, put the boat behind a hurricane barrier, had it pulled and blocked, on a protected paved island with no trees behind a barbed wire fence with 24 hour surveillance. I figure that is the best I could do.

I would take it down, on the highway all the wind is coming from the front.

Irene might be a sneaky bitch and blow from all angles.

Take it off, the wind gust will come from different angles and at different speeds, which can flex the attachment points and result in faliure from metal fatigue.

Any trees near where their branches may fly off and onto boat? that could do some damage, otherwise why bother
