Post Hi, just introducing myself

After looking on the net for a place to hang out while not fishing, I found this place. After lurking for a couple of days, I registered...
Now I'm extending my hand to introduce myself.

I'm a young 1955 model, male. Originally from Oslo, Norway but living in East Windsor, CT since 1989. I was re-introduced to fishing last year with the help of some of the guys hanging out at Weekapaug Bait & Tackle.

This year I will continue to fish from the shore and hope to meet a lot of new friends. I'm hoping to expand my fishing horizon by rigging my "sit on top" kayak to be my new fishing boat. (anyone with tips on how to rig the kayak are welcome to share knowledge and wisdom with me)

Hi ya' Nils. Welcome!

I just read your post in the boating forum then jumped in here and noticed you are from East Windsor. I am from Andover, near Colchester.

Check your PMs...

Cheers,
Rob

Hi Nils,

Welcome to the site, maybe you can tell us how they catch the large fish in Norway.

Tight lines to ya, soon I hope.

Hi Nils,

What type of kayak did you get? I've got a WS Tarpon 120 on order myself.

Thanks again to everyone.

I quote Strippedgear

Answer is No... But I know that the size of the fish increases proportionally with the number of days passed since ...

Honestly, last time I fished in Norway was 20 yeas ago with a fly for salmon and I did not catch any...

Hooked, I did not buy a kayak. I had one we bought for the kids last year, Cobra Tandem. I'm working on a way to making it "my" fishing vessel.... I'll name it Striper Cobra <jk>
If I can't figure out a safe way to fish from it I'll continue to fish from the beach and invest in a fish-n-dive yak next year.

Hey Hooked,

Did you get the pre-rigged model or are you going to outfit it yourself?

I'll be configuring my Tarpon 160 this weekend with JoeV from KayakFishingStuff.

I'm installing 2 flush mounts and a RAM rod, the GTS high back seat, and paddle/rod leashes.

I can't wait to get on the water!

Tight Lines,
Rob

Mine's coming from KFS also.

The only option that will added before I get it is a rudder. I'll do the rest of the accessories myself after I paddle it a couple times (and once I get the nerve to start drilling holes).

I'll be adding similar items. Don't forget to mount the FF.

Post pictures when yours is done.
