I was thinking the same thing. Plus with another full week of heavy winds, the sea will be pisssed off for a few days after that, so there goes next weekend too.
I can't complain about this season and I batted 1000 on every personal trip, and charter.
Maybe quit while I ahead.....

That's exactly what I'm thinking. I rewired the boat trailer yesterday so she's ready to roll. Got another trip out of town next week then it's November. I'm done.

I pulled on Saturday, season over. Not a bad season overall, ok on the bass but plenty of seabass and tautog for the winter.
Now I spend my time at work, in hockey rinks and the occasional duck blind.

I pulled last tuesday, looking at the long range was enough for me to make the decision, it's been slow ( for large) up north for awhile..... I winterized and covered the boat Saturday.. it's alot more pleasurable to do it when you can still feel your hands.. in my youth, I've fished PlumIsland ( and caught large) as late as Thanksgiving.. but fishless days outnumber blitzes... after 40+ years of do this I finaly figured out.. a good run is better than a bad stand... April will be here in no time.

Paul, the back is what it is. I go for an MRI this week so hopefully it's just precautionary. It feels a bit better today so hopefully, I can't miss the tog bite w/Rockhound. I'll fish like his grandpa did sitting down.
next week looks nice hang in there for another week or so, you'll be sorry and it's a long winter
hope all is well with you.

RR: You back in the Captains seat? How's the feet/ankles?
I don't put the cover on until Dec!

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

Life is a choice !
Got a few more bass charters in the harbor we are trying to get in.
Depending what's going on a bit south may move boat in a few weeks down south to another harbor to be closer to the action.
