sorry to hear you had a bad day. but you know what they say about a bad day fishing .........................what kind of day have some others been having????????????. i would like to know? no one seams to be all that concerned about the oil spill in buz bay i would have thought that that would have produced a rather large thread of concerned fisherpersons by now. glad to see other wise. so if your not that concerned then please tell me i can plan i trip to the general area of buz bay willing to look from south cape beach to watch hill. will be surf castering with wife and new born son so hiking is out but not the drive the drive i'll do but in need of a short walk from the truck so to all that have knowlage and are willing to share FEEL FREE TO DO SOOOOOO
.................................................. .........beats a good day of work

Explore Cape Cod Canal Today.

Dear Striper Friends:

I went to Canal this afternoon and briefly explore the fishing conditions there (I did not even bother to wet my line, but merely do some video recording).

1. East end jetty (cape side sandwich): two flounder fishmen and two tautog fishmen--no body catch anything

2. West end: mud flats and railroad bridge areas.
(One fishwaman--catch nothing!)

3. herring run : Two live-herring fishmen (nothing), three swimmer
or jig fishmen (catch nothing)--no herring running at the run at all (around 5:50PM)

Boat fishing at buzzard bay is also slow according to one of my favor boat friend

I think not only the lingering winter affects the current fishing condition, the oil spill might also be blamed for anybody have other thought!

Green bass, rainbow trout ...

bigmouth/small bass, rainbow, lake brook trout and pickerel are the only fishes I caught so far!

by the way, I have booked on neat lady next week, hofully I can catch some scup, tautog and black bass; however I wish these fishes won't be polluted by spilled oil.

Sorry you had such a bad day. But at least you got out for awhile!! I have 2 cell phones swiming with the fish to date Now I tell my wife that the phone is put away and will use only if I am going to be late or emergency. If I want a phone call its not while I am fishing!!
Cheer up!! you be catching reel soon and you will forget that you even have a cell phone, never mind that you lost one.

Lightbulb

Can't tell you how many cell phones and pagers and the such I've dropped into salt water while fishing. I leave 'em in the car now.
